After the successful celebration of Soiree Beaujolais: Streets of Paris event at the Manila Hotel on the 21st of November presented by the French Chambers of Commerce in the Philippines, a night of sumptuous buffet on November 25 was hosted by Le Cellier, a company that import and distributes French wines in the Philippines in several hotels and resorts. Le Cellier is owned by Bernard Flour, Founder; and Jorinda Flour, Business Development Manager.
That was an evening of Beaujolais wine dinner with the VIPs including the guest of honor Yves-Dominique Ferraud of Maison Ferraud, makers of Ferraud et Fils wines from the Beaujolais region in France.
The Beaujolais Wine Dinner, honored by the presence of Yves-Dominique Ferraud, renown wine maker for the 5th generation in the Beaujolais Region, was a good opportunity to taste the “Crus of Beaujolais” among which Chiroubles 2009, Brouilly 2011 and Fleurie 2010 were the most appreciated. The wine & gastronomy event was supported by Le Cellier French Wine Selection and Sofitel Luxury Hotel who hosted us with great success.
Also included in the Cremant de Bourgogne, Blanc de Blanc (Aperitif) pairing at the Spiral are the following from the full-bodied and smooth wines, such as Macon Villages 2011, Chardonay; Macon Rogue 2011; Beaujolais Villages 2010; Julienas 2011; Saint Amour 2011; Morgon 2010; and Moulin a Vent 2010. Needless to say, the Chiroubles 2009 made the most appreciated wine of the evening.
“Water and sunlight is very potent for the grapes in creating strong and great or smooth and soft wines,” said Bernard.
“Chiroubles 2009 is the oldest vintage here that is why it’s probably the best-seller tonight,” according to Ferraud.

Aside from the Beaujolais Nouveau celebrated last week during Soiree Beaujolais: Streets of Paris, there are dozens of other wines produced by the Beaujolais region and that is what Monsieur Ferraud wants to promote as well. In Beajolais Nouveau tradition, wine makers wait for one month to sell it.
In Beaujolais itself, almost 180 million wine bottles are consumed every year and could cost between €5 to €10 per bottle.
Matthieu Chapius, Assistant F&B Manager, Sofitel Luxury Hotel was in high-spirit as he welcomes everyone joining the dinner.
Meanwhile, if you want to experience a night of decadence at Le Bar, indulge to their French Wine & Gastronomy event every Thursday night. The evening of wine and cheese pairing includes artisanal cheeses and succulent amuse-bouche paired with fine selection of 10 premium wines from the top French vineyards. Wine and cheese buffet is served from 6 to 9 PM at Php 1,800 nett.
