Amazing Food Challenge is back with its 2nd Season with another set of challengers across Asia Pacific who were brought to the island of the Philippines for some fun and exciting culinary challenges. Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines airs every Thursday, 9 PM beginning November 27 on Asian Food Channel.
Asian Food Channel is a unit of Scripps Networks Interactive.
The new season of Amazing Food Challenge is made possible with partnership with Department of Tourism (DOT Philippines) and the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines (TPBP). Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines returns with a fresh batch of contestants from across Asia Pacific who will battle it out for USD50,000 worth of cash and prizes.
On the first episode which premiered tonight, program host and celebrity cook Sherson Lian, together with resident judge Chef Rolando Laudico and guest judge Him Uy de Baron, gave an exciting challenge to the 10 participants who competed on the first leg – to bake Tortang Mamon under the mid-day sun of Bohol Beach Club. And to cut it short, one of the 10 participants got eliminated too early from the game. Chimee Bayandorj from Mongolia was the first to fly back home after the challenging cook-off. Chimee failed twice during the first episode that led the 32-year old to take the next flight back home. 20-year old F&B student Kenton Wu from Hong Kong won the first round.
“The first season of Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines was extremely successful and series two romises to offer even more fun, excitement, and mouthwatering adventures,” said Derek Chang, Managing Director, Scripps Networks Interactive, Asia Pacific.
Prior to the airing of the first episode, we were invited to a media launch and preview at La Veranda in Sofitel Manila. The event was hosted by Gelli Victor.
