With the new album, Aiza Seguerra pulled off a soothing vibe to the irresistible compositions of the ever hailed man in the music industry, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, leaping onto another voyage as a singer
During the album launch last May 21 at Brentwood Suites, Quezon City, Seguerra, backed up by three musicians, performed the tracks included in the album live in front of Universal Records Managers, guests and invited media.
Admittedly challenged while working out on the album labeled as “Araw Gabi: Mga Awit ni Maestro Ryan Cayabyab,” Seguerra believed to have successfully nailed the best rendition he wanted for each songs.
“Medyo mahirap especially on my hand because I’m not used to singing these types of songs, pero kase gusto ko talaga ‘yung mga kanta n’ya e, gusto ko talaga na magkaroon ng mga sarili kong interpretations,” she expressed.
Having “Araw Gabi” as the carrier single, the album was his first under Universal Records featuring the compilation of Ryan Cayabyab’s most-loved songs such as “Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka” with piano accompaniment played by Cayabyab, “Limang Dipang Tao,” “Paano Na Kaya,” “Kay Ganda Ng Ating Musika.”
“Happy ako kase I worked with super talented musicians … kung ano ‘yung puso na binibigay ko sa album, sila din pareho, so happy ako na eto ‘yung kinalabasan n’ya,” she added.
Included in the album are his own renditions on three of Smokey Mountain’s songs namely, “Mama,” being the only track in acoustic, “Kailan,” and “Can This Be Love.”
Seguerra explained that the album is not about her but the story behind the ‘timeless’ songs of the maestro and, reviving is a way to show the natural Ryan Cayabyab while composing those songs alone.
Aside from the song “Araw Gabi”, another track in the album that was special for Seguerra is “Minsan Ang Minahal Ay Ako,” wherein according to her reflects her up-and-down journeys while being in the industry.
