A young Philippine eagle was rescued and christened AlDub, as reported today on 24Oras GMA News. The man who found the bird believes, by christening the eagle AlDub, will help encourage more people to support for the bird’s well-being and preservation.
The man brought and turned over AlDub to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Meanwhile, releasing of captive Philippine eagles back to the wild is suspended by DENR following the killing of Pamana who was shot and found dead last August 19. Pamana was an endangered Philippine eagle released back to her natural habitat in Mt. Hamiguitan, Davao Oriental on June 12, 2015. Pamana’s killer is still at large.
