Our first day in Bukidnon gave us the chance to see one of Brgy. Dahilayan’s nature haven perfect for overnight stay and camping if you’re visiting Dahilayan Forest Park. We are talking about Alomah’s Place, a nature and organic farm opened by Benjohn and Grace Mahistrado for vacationers, tourists, and those who need a place to stay for retreat camp.
Alomah’s Place is located in Manolo Fortich, the place of Del Monte pineapple plantation farm.
It was during our Agricultural Training Institute’s Organic Agriculture Bloggers Tour when we experienced our first night in Alomah’s Place.
Alomah’s Place encourages the consumption of organic crops like lettuce, peppermint, basil, tarragon, and a lot more. They also introduced us with their own 3-in-1 herbal tea mix using tarragon, peppermint, and stevia leaves.
Alomah’s Place offers camping site for a maximum of 100 persons. They also offer kubo (nipa hut) rooms for P2,500 good for 4-6 persons.
They also have tents for rent at P150 for outdoor experience and for indoor, their ‘Tent Floor’ for P4,000 good for 10 persons.
Alomah’s Place offers farm tour with playground, horse back-riding and trail walk, bamboo rafting, anthurium, and lettuce farm visit.
In Bukidnon, temperature drops at 10 °C and has the feel of Mountain Province atmosphere in Luzon. According to Benjohn, summer season is rarely felt in Bukidnon. There’s almost rain all-year round and the temperature is very cold which is perfect for growing crops and vegetables like Alomah’s Place’s lettuce harvest. Bukidnon also has a lot pine trees growing in the mountains.
Alomah’s Place is the major source of lettuce produce in Bukidnon offering with the lowest P40 per kilo price for volume and wholesale.
They also breed and grow tilapia with their own fish pond. Because of the abundance of lettuce, no waste is left behind as they also feed them to the fish.
Alomah’s Place takes pride of being featured in several travel shows like Living Asia because of their beautiful surroundings and their ecological contribution to chemical-free farming in the province.
Alomah’s Place is more than 2 hours far from Laguindingan Airport in Cagayan de Oro. There are direct flights from Manila that you can book if you’re planning for a trip in CDO or Bukidnon.
