Today, February 21, the 2013 Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival soars high above the sky from the Omni Aviation Grounds to celebrate the annual balloon fest organized by government agencies promoting Clark Freeport Zone and Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival (PIHABF). And this year, Axe Philippines joins the 18th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival with HOHOL surprises when it revealed its gigantic five-story hot air balloon shaped like a NASA space-shuttle; Axe’s heroic astronaut; pretty Axe girls; and celebrity deejay Jinri Park, who joined the fun on the first day opening of the festival.
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Mon Jimenez and Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival (PIHABF) President Capt. Joy Roa were both present to witness the magnificent balloons as well as the thrilling high-flying stunts by the Breitling Jet Team from Europe which showed their seven Aero L-39 Albatross jets in a dare-devil acrobatic stunts up in the air. Definitely, it was one of the main event that people wanted to see.
Ashley Rivera a.k.a. Petra Mahalimuyak also joins the fun in-between taking pictures besides the giant Axe space-shuttle.
As early as 5am, each participating hot air balloon flyers were already on the field which was kicked-off by a flag-raising high-jump participated by the Philippine aeronautical team.
The HOHOL surprises came when Resley George Amador appeared as the Axe ‘astronaut’ who happens to have won Axe’s HOHOL (Hot Air Hot Air Lang) online contest. Part of his once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a ‘hero‘ astronaut for the day, get pretty Axe girls by his side, and the chance to fly aboard the Axe space-shuttle balloon. As of this writing, the ‘astronaut’ will join the ride when the Axe space-shuttle balloon takes off the ground by 4pm this afternoon. Meanwhile, Jinri Park and the Axe girls just wrapped-up a sexy ‘plane-washing‘ segment that heat up the festive mood of the 18th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival.
“Axe has always been about impressing girls, and the 18th PIHABF is about celebrating Valentine’s and taking a girl there to make her feel special. It was just natural that Axe Philippines be here to stir things up. Plus, PIHABF is a lot of fun, and we’re all about that,” said Gem Laforteza, Axe Philippines Brand Manager.
