Congratulations to Baguio-based band Even bagged the first Converse Get Loud Philippines Loudest Performer band competition for 2013 held last night at Excess Superclub in Quezon City.
Even, composed of Dyanne Licudine (vocals), Jam Bumanlag (guitars), Coco Saupan (bass) and Dan Allan Acosta (drums). The band has been performing in Baguio City for seven years, building its own listeners for its kind of music which the band dubs as “Experi-Metal FX-tronica.” Rather than compromising their sound, the band has stayed true with their music’s dark and melancholic strain. Last year, they launched their first album, Retribution, whose carrier single of the same title proves to be a haunting song of rich and complex melodies. Even’s winning performance piece is entitled “Luminary” for “Get Loud.”
The battle started as Converse Philippines officially launched #ConverseGetLoud band competition with five local bands vying to be hailed as the first “Get Loud” over-all champion. Five bands competed on this nationwide search that involved scouring hundreds of performance venues, visiting thousand of band sites and YouTube channels for Converse Philippines “Get Loud”.
These bands namely Even from North Luzon, Bethany from Visayas, Kissbone from Cainta, Brisom from Metro Manila, and Jad Montenegro from Davao. The five acts showcase their original songs which were then recorded by one of the music industry’s finest producer, Angee Rozul, as part of the online voting competition that started on October 7. Fans voted for their favorite act at www.facebook.com/ConversePhilipines by clicking on the “Get Loud” tab, 20% of these votes comprised the band’s final score.
Even also bagged The People’s Choice award and Php 150,000 prized catch for winning the Loudest Performer act.
Judges for the finals were Francis Reyes, Mark Lacay, Ebe Dancel, John Hendrix, and Dan Mindanao. The Converse Get Loud Philippines was hosted by Carl McFly of K-Lite 103.5FM.
