Warning: This article contains spoilers. If you haven’t watched Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, leave now or forever regret this moment it ever happened. But if you’ve seen it already, have fun and enjoy our little effort of unraveling mysteries from this epic superhero movie directed by Zack Snyder.
Is She With You?
When Wonder Woman entered to save the day from the rampaging Doomsday, Superman asked Batman if she’s with him. Batman replied “I thought she was with you.”
Critics find Batman’s answer a bit dumb considering his alter-ego Bruce have already decipher who Wonder Woman really is after decrypting Lex Luthor’s files.
Critics could have been right about their theory but there could also be another plausible explanation as to why Batman answered Superman with those words. Batman might be referring Wonder Woman as an alien too, having discovered that she existed in this world for hundred of years, leading to his “I thought she was with you” response.
She Was My World
In the Knightmare scene, Superman was furious at Batman telling him, “She was my world. You took her away from me,” before landing a powerful thump on Batman’s chest.
Everyone’s guessing that it was Lois Lane (insert Injustice) that Superman was referring to and this might be because in another dream sequence, The Flash mentioned to Bruce that Lois is the key before being sucked away from a portal.
This theory could be correct but we have another plausible explanation to this mystery.
Maybe, and we say maybe, the ‘world’ that Superman was referring at in the movie is not a ‘who’ but rather a ‘what’ and that could be the Planet Earth and it happened that (could be) Bruce took the attention of the people away from Superman since he became rogue and slave to Darkseid. You might recall that before Superman attack Doomsday in the BvS movie, he said, “This is my world,” referring to Earth before telling Lois “You are my world”.
We can see that in the Knightmare, Superman was not the good guy, as we know it, and his Sons of Superman soldiers killed every Sons of Batman gang when the Dark Knight tried to retrieved the Kryptonite rock.
Lois might not be dead here, as to what many concluded, but rather the ‘key’ to help Superman become his old good self again. Remember, this is the movie universe and not the comics.
