We sat down with the newest reigning Binibining Pilipinas 2016 beauty queens and we had the whole afternoon knowing more about each one of them. Here’s what we’ve discovered from Binibining Pilipinas 2016 2nd runner-up Jehza Mae Huelar.
1. Jehza Mae Huelar’s birthday falls 15 days before the Binibining Pilipinas 2016 Grand Coronation Night
Jehza turned 21 last April 2, 15 days before the pageant’s Grand Coronation Night held in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
2. The Binibining Pilipinas 2016 2nd runner-up is from Davao
Jehza grew up and finished college in Davao and a certified Dabawenya. As much as she wanted to go back to Davao right after the pageant, she can’t because of her upcoming commitments as Binibining Pilipinas 2016 2nd runner-up.
3. She is a fresh graduate
Jehza recently graduated in Finance at the Ateneo de Davao University and right after that she became part of Maharlika Sports Foundation where she teaches small children.
4. A dream is a picture of possibility
“I have been a dreamer. Nung bata ako sabi ko, 5 years from now nandyan ako sa TV, tinitignan ko yung mga nagpa-pageant. Hindi ko na-envision na magiging totoo yun. But when you try, sabi nga ni Pia, a dream is a picture of possibility. So pwedeng mangyare. Kaya yun, you work hard for it. Pero a an advise, gusto ko i-prioritize muna yung pag-aaral. As much as possible. Iba yung may natapos ka eh. And iba yung opportunities na maibibigay sayo, sumali ka man matalo ka man, manalo ka man, as long as you have already your education with you, so keep on working on it.”
5. Jehza and Angelica Alita are roommates
Coincidentally, she and Binibining Pilipinas 2016 1st runner-up Angelica Alita are roommates during the course of the pageantry. They bonded well and became super close with each other, and fortunately, they both made it to the Top 15 and won Binibining Pilipinas 2016 titles. They are candidates. Jehza is Binibini 37 while Angelica is Binibini 38.
6. She supports anti-cyberbullying, HIV/AIDS campaign awareness, and healthy lifestyle
“Baka iiyak kayo. I support Pia’s advocacy, anti-cyberbullying, because I have a lot friends who are bullied in social media. Ako naka-experience ako nung bata ako kase sobrang payat ko. Pero tinanggap ko yun as a person and it helped me grow as a person. Second, HIV/AIDS. Third, both of my parents died because of cancer just recently, last year, kaya I advocate healthy lifestyle and good living. Kaya yung naging part ako ng ambassadress ng little children, I advocate sports kase I want them to be disciplined habang bata pa sila and gusto ko maging active yung lifestyle nila.”
