French master chef Matthieu Garrel of the famed Paris restaurant Le Belisaire is here in Manila and he is having an exclusive engagement at Sofitel Philippine Plaza for Gastronomie a Paris celebration until July 7.
Chef Matthieu Garrel, who looks serious but is actually a jolly person, will feature his finest creations as he prepares and cook traditional french French bistro dishes from the freshest ingredients and exquisite flavors in front of guests and patrons of Sofitel from July 3 – 7, 2015.
The distinction of Chef Matthieu’s epicurean series offerings started with a culinary showcase alongside Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila‘s very own Chef Bettina Arguelles featuring 3 specialty dishes on July 4 at the Sunset Bar Barbecue Buffet from 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM, available at PhP 2,700nett per person.
The sumptuous offerings continue in an enhanced selection at the most interactive dining destination, Spiral. Available from the 3rd to the 7th of July. Enjoy Chef Matthieu’s finest dishes as he cooks live from Spiral’s French Stove. The said dining atelier then becomes a treasure trove of dishes as Chef Matthieu’s featured recipes enriches the collection of authentic French dishes available from the 8th to the 31st of July, as Sofitel features French Connection for a month-long celebration. This is to pay homage to Spiral’s French history, culture, and tradition. Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila presents magnifique offers in this month-long celebration of gastronomy and wine.
It was a pleasure to have been invited for the grand opening of Gastronomie a Paris last Friday, held at Sofitel’s Le Veranda. It was a gathering of foodies, gastronomes, and wine-lovers as the event features unique and flavorful drinks and meals to sample out Chef Matthieu’s featured dishes from Le Belisaire.
For starter, we had a glass of Ciroc Rose De Matin. Sharing from French heritage, Ciroc Rose De Matin is a cocktail with exotic blend of Ciroc vodka and rose wine, balanced with zesty lemon juice with hint of rose water.
Ciroc Rose De Matin will be available in all dining outlets at PhP 510+ for the month of July.
We toured the Showcase Table and took photos of Chef Matthieu’s creations such as Homards Bretons, en Macedoine (Lobster Macedoine), Duo de canard aux asperges sauvages (Duo of Duck with Wild Asparagus), Huiters chaudes, sauce champagne (Oysters & Champagne Sauce), Pot au Feu Breton Tout Cochon , Os a Moelle au Foie Gras (Bone Marrow Foie Gras), Les Caramels au Chocolat, cafe et fleur de sel (Sea Salt Caramels), Verbena Creme Brulee, and Moelleux chaud au Chocolat du Belisaire (Hot Chocolate Cake).
The best-seller would be the Foie Gras.
