April is National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Month


 Not everyone knows that on April 4, 2017, President Rodrigo R. Duterte signed Proclamation No. 190 declaring April of every year as National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Month calling upon government instrumentalities, including universities and colleges and local government units, and the private sector to participate in the celebration upgrading the previous weeklong observance to a month. To kick off the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenders (#LGBT) #Pride month this June, the U.S. Embassy gathered its community, friends and online followers in at the Embassy compound on June 3, 2015 to show their support for equal rights through chalk art and messages and witness the hanging of the rainbow flag.

 In celebration of Pride Month, the embassy community and participants of the #Loveis Facebook campaign came together on June 3rd to show their support for equal rights through chalk art. They also witnessed the hanging of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride flag in the Embassy compound.  Internationally-acclaimed Filipino independent filmmaker Brillante Mendoza held a two-day film workshop in Bulacan at SM City Marilao last September 18-19, 2014.
