Incredible Yangon, Myanmar

Yangon, composed of different culture influences from British, Burmese, Chinese, and Indian and famous for its heritage structures, is the largest city and main economic hub of Myanmar. The most popular attraction located at Yangon is the great Shwedagon Pagoda that is about 2, 500 years old. It is covered with gold plates and a stupa containing 4,531 diamonds at the top, with 72-carat diamond considered as the largest. Moreover, it is also the most sacred and impressive Buddhist site for the people of Burma where Gautama Buddha’s hair strands and other holy relics were enshrined.

Nature lovers can explore the city’s stunning lakes, shady parks and verdant tropical trees, which earned Yangon the title “The Garden City of the East.” Those who want to bring home a piece of Myanmar should head to the Gems Museum which is dedicated to precious Burmese gem stones.  They can visit the Gems Mart, which houses 82 jewelry stores on three floors and sells top-quality raw and finished gem products, including rubies, sapphires, pearls and jade.
