The list goes on and on, and today, we were saddened by the shocking news that heartthrob actor Cory Monteith, popularly known as Finn Hudson of Fox‘s hit series Glee, was found dead inside his room at The Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, Saturday afternoon, July 13, in Vancouver, Canada. Foul play was ruled out over the young actor’s death. Medical examiners will conduct an autopsy on Monday, July 15. He was 31.

It’s hard to wonder why prominent and famous celebs are the ones who were easily prone to take their lives just like that. Perhaps, it’s the limelight that was too much too handle for them and the only way to escape is to resort to substance drug abuse. Fact is, too much of drug dependency may or will result to possible death due to drug overdose.

Here is a list of some of famous celebrities who just called it quits and as the song goes, “bites the dust“.

Michael Jackson died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home on North Carolwood Drive in Los Angeles. The manner of death was determined by the coroner to be homicide. He was 50.

Whitney Houston was found dead in her guest room at The Beverly Hilton. The official coroner’s report showed that she had accidentally drowned in the bathtub, with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors. She was 48.

Elvis Presley was found dead in his bathroom in 1977 after overdosing on prescription drugs. He was 42.

There are more of them should we list them all down here. Most of them were in the prime of their careers. And some of them chose the other way around they thought would be the easiest way out.

Remember kids, stay away from drugs. Depending on its use, substance drug abuse will not help you solve problems. Should you need assistance, you may seek help from accredited treatment and rehabilitation centers in the Philippines or go directly to Department of Health for counseling.

And to quote brilliant director and writer for film and television, Joey Javier Reyes‘ reaction on Cory Monteith’s sudden death through his Twitter account,  “No news is more saddening & painful than the death of someone so young, talented & holding so much more promise. It’s simply heartbreaking.”
