Designed and developed to be the fastest course in the Philippines and one of the fastest in Asia, Challenge CAMSUR will prove it on June 14, 2015 when the signal to start begins, CAMSUR or Camarines Sur has been awarded the No. 1 tourist destination in 2010  and the only province with the best experience and proven
track record in hosting the best and biggest ‘World
class sporting events’. It all began when CAMSUR hosted Ironman for 3 consecutive
years, hosted the biggest marathon in the country with over 18K participants and accredited race with IAAF-AIMS. It is also the place where the biggest dragon boat competition in the country was held and the biggest wake boarding event in the world.

Challenge Philippine Race and Challenge CamSur Challenge in 2015 are part of Challenge Family brand is owned by the largest family in Roth, Germany. Challenge Family, owner of the global triathlon series of long and half distance race, is known worldwide for giving the most iconic and beautiful race locations.

The 2014 Challenge Philippines race course in Bataan was participated by over 729 athletes from 38 countries with twenty-five of the world’s fastest pro competing in the race for P2 miliion prize purse in Asia. Among them are Australia’s Michael Murphy and other current world champion.

Challenge Philippines can generate total revenue amounting up to more than US$ 25 million upon its success, which is greatly beneficial to the country’s strong tourism campaign.

Challenge Philippines Triathlon race will beef up Subic Bay, Bataan and CamSur tourism as it launches new international race set on February 21 and June 14 next year for the Challenge Philippines andChallenge CamSur races, respectively.

These announcement came during the media conference of Challenge Philippines and Yellow Cab Philippines Partnership attended by David Voth, CEO of Leverage Sports Asia and Challenge Philippines Race Chairman, and Roy Quejada, Chief Operating Officer, Yellow Cab Co. last July 29 at 55 Events Place in Quezon City. I believe that our experience of hosting world-class events in the Philippines and the expertise of the Challenge Family headed by David, we can grow this brand, the fastest growing triathlon brand  in the country, not only in the  Philippines but the entire of Asia. Modesty aside, the province of Camarines Sur is known to be the sports adventure capital of the Philippines. We, my father hosted Ironman 70.3 three years in a row, the Philippine AD Congress, World Wake-boarding Championships, and we believe that with this group, with this partnership, we can achieve so much more especially with this new administration that I have. I have so much to prove and with this challenge I believe that we can accomplish this. I hope to see you all in Camarines Sur very soon,” said CamSur Gov. Luis Miguel “Migz” Villafuerte.

Villafuerte was elected Governor of Camarines Sur in 2013, defeating his grandfather Luis. At the age of 24, he is the youngest elected governor in Philippine history. His father, Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte served as Provincial Governor from 2004-2013, completing the three-term position before passing the rein to the younger Villafuerte who sworn into office on July 2013.

Ex-governor LRay is credited for putting Camarines Sur on the international tourism map with the successful promotion of Camsur Watersports Complex and the Caramoan Islands, a favorite location of the reality television show “Survivor.” Under his watch, the province has become a top tourist destination in the Philippines in terms of local and foreign tourist visitors as recorded by the Department of Tourism.

CAMSUR will offer:

• Olympic style village

• Best infrastructure for sporting events

• CWC complex has open areas for sponsorship
 tent, concessions, branding, signs, etc.

CAMSUR is accessible by land or via commercial plane with airports in Naga and Legazpi.
