It may not be as big as Lollapalooza or as crazy as Coachella but Circuit Fest 2013 Music and Skate was a huge success despite bad weather on Saturday. The scorching heat of the sun came to a halt before nighttime as the rain started to tease while the Music and Skate Festival was happening but it did not bring down the souls of the hundredths of fans who flocked to the Globe Circuit Grounds in Makati.
Globe Circuit Grounds is also the future location of living space and high-rise commercial and business buildings soon to be unfold. Meanwhile, as development continues, Globe Circuit Grounds, where the famed Sta. Ana Race Track once stood, is now host to future concerts, festivals, and big events. It is such a perfect venue with a 2,000-square-meter canopy area. Circuit Fest 2013 could be the pioneering event of the biggest outdoor music festivals to be held in the country. Aside from the Globe Circuit Events Ground, the other entertainment venues are the Circuit Theatre, a 1,500-seater performing arts venue that will showcase the Filipino’s world-class talent and feature “Broadway-type” of entertainment, and the Circuit Lane which will feature an interactive walk with a multi-purpose black box for more intimate shows, recitals, workshops and even parties. This is a Php 30-million investment acquired by Globe Telecom.
Circuit Fest 2013 was a perfect set-up indeed with food and drinks tents found in the area; a clam-shell type performing stage; a wide space for other activities such as the skateboard rink; a good angle for photographers; and teams of medical emergencies were all in sight, giving this music and skate festival the greatest vibe we’ve ever seen.
9 bands performed their hits throughout that day with A+ Dropouts opening the show. Megan Nicole followed, then This Century, Before You Exit, We Are The In Crowd, Downtown Fiction, All Star Weekend, Mayday Parade, and Yellowcard. The show hosted by Mark “Puck” Salling of GLEE who shared his excitement with the bands as he interview’s them onstage. Mark was also joined by Pinoy skateboarder Willy Santos and Riley Hawk, the son of legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk, and the rest of the participating skateboarders and artists.
Despite the rain and as an overall view of the event, Circuit Fest 2013 Music and Skate was huge and a blast. Noted celebrities were also spotted during the concert like Roxanne Barcelo and Monster RX93.1 deejay Jinri Park. Chi Resurreccion, bassist of the band Typecast was also seen on the event.
