Just like our Adventour, Deuter backpacks are perfect for adventurers and backpacker’s lifestyle for whatever season it maybe as companion while on a tour, traveling, or simply going around town.
Deuter is a German brand that has been here for many years and now decided it’s high-time to open their own concept store in the country. Located strategically, the first Deuter concept store opened at the 2/L, SM Mall of Asia North Wing near the cinema. We were one of the few bloggers invited to grace the ‘cutting-of-the-ribbon’ ceremony before they formally open the store to the public.
For Deuter, one of the most trusted brands in the world of outdoor sports, the backpack is a passport to great adventures. Founded in 1898, Deuter has been pioneering premium outdoor equipment for over 115 years. It first made its mark by providing the Bavarian Royal Mail with mailbags and post sacks. Eventually, the company developed backpacks, knapsacks, satchels, and tents, primarily for the German military.
Deuter was outfitting pioneering mountaineering expeditions with backpacks and tents, putting their manufacturing skills and expertise to the test. In 1938, German mountain climber Anderl Heckmair brought along a Deuter backpack when he led the first successful ascent of the North Face of the Eiger. Fifteen years later, Deuter was with Austrian mountaineer Hermann Buhl and his crew when they conquered Nanga Parbat in Pakistan, the ninth highest mountain in the world.
That Deuter’s history is closely intertwined with that of modern mountaineering is no surprise as the company has consistently worked with the sporting world’s best in order to develop revolutionary systems and innovative products.
Deuter first patented the air comfort mesh technology called AirComfort System that most of backpackers (and other brands) are enjoying. This technology lets the air flow freely from against a person’s back and the bag being carried. By creating a space between the pack and the wearer’s back, this revolutionary mesh back system reduces perspiration by 25 percent. With its three-way ventilation, Deuter’s AirComfort System decreases the wearer’s average heart rate and load on the cardiovascular system, increasing his level of endurance. Deuter celebrates 30 years of ventilation, 30 years of AirComfort!
Deuter has a lot to offer as we checked them out inside. There are bags for the regular sports aficionados, for mountaineering, trekking, daypacks, messenger bags, kiddie backpacks, satchels, laptop bags, and a lot more. Deuter also the place to buy your mountaineering and race tool accessories.
During the store opening, the people from Deuter even demonstrated the proper way to carry backpacks. We’ve learned that you have to secure the waist lock first and make sure it’s adjusted at your hip level for better posture and the weight of the bags are evenly distributed in the body’s capacity to carry them on.
We’ve also learned the term thumb loop which is the extra loop found in a backpack that you can pull to adjust from the shoulders.
Deuter is priced from a thousand pesos and higher, depends on the type of backpack you’re availing.
The most common and popular from Deuter are the trekking bags which are really big but costs just fairly right of the catch.
The next step for Deuter is to open more stores to accommodate their customers from different locations. And that we are going to watch out for the next #deuteropening!
