I thought Insurgent will not surpass my expectations from Divergent. I thought Tris cutting her locks to short hair will turn her beauty to dullness. I had it all wrong. Insurgent kicks ass and if you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it on your favorite cinema.
Insurgent is the sequel to Divergent, a dystopian characterization of civilization 100 years after the war. The premise of Insurgent is that everyone is searching for power and looking for answers that were left behind from the 2014 Divergent film, an adaptation from the book written by Veronica Roth. The sequel puts Tris (Shailene Woodley) plotting to kill Jeanine (Kate Winslet) and avenge her parents’ deaths. Four/Tobias Eaton (Theo James) helped Tris to fulfill her mission but only after establishing alliance from his mother, who everyone thought was already dead.

The heights, jump scenes, the matrix-style action are all present in this science fiction action film directed by Robert Schwentke based on the second book in the Divergent trilogy.
Shailene shines once again in this film and every time she came out on screen is either she is lovely or truly a badass actress portraying the role of a deadly hot and sexy 100% Divergent.
Jai Courtney returns here as Eric Coulter. He’s so bad in Insurgent but I am waiting to see him in Terminator Genisys where he plays Kyle Reese.
You should watch the Divergent film should you find yourself in a rabbit hole. You’ll never appreciate what Tris and Four has been gone through if you don’t know the back story from Divergent. There were main characters from the first film who died on the sequel but I won’t tell you who they are so you can see it for yourself.
I am now excited for the next part, Allegiant which should be out for release on 2016 (Part 1) and 2017 (Part 2).
The reason I am excited is because the ending of Insurgent kinda reminded me of The Walking Dead. Rick and the gang always end up in sanctuaries only to be blinded by mysteries surrounding the places. Here in Insurgent, a wall that has been for a hundred for years has yet to be revealed of what is behind it once the people reach it. Is it a safe haven or just like Terminus of The Walking Dead series?
Movie rating for Insurgent is 5/5.
