Fairview and its nearby town residents in Quezon City must have been enjoying now for they are finally experiencing a one-of-a-kind night food market, thanks to SM City Fairview for hosting the first ever weekend night food bazaar. According to Jay Arañas, Group Marketing Manager, Shopping Center Management Corp., SM Supermalls, this is the first time that the mall is hosting EATS @ SM FAIRVIEW, its own night food market and the perfect place to kick-off this event is at SM City Fairview that has more than 600 sqm. Transport Terminal area to cater to more than 40 food concessionaires serving favorite local specialties such as crispy pata, bagnet and dampa-style grilled seafood, as well as International selections that include American rib eye steaks, authentic Japanese takoyaki and Chinese noodle soups. Those with smaller appetites can snack on freshly-made shawarmas, Ilocos empanadas, and Cebu chicharon. Delectable desserts like buko sorbetes, puto bumbong, assorted cakes and pastries also await those with a sweet tooth.
The first nights of EATS @ SM FAIRVIEW happens from July 31 – August 2 from 7 PM – 2 AM. There is acoustic music and DJs to provide the entertainment for foodies as they feast. Spacious dining areas can accommodate small to large parties of families and friends.
It is a great experience, thanks to SM City Fairview, that we were there on the opening night and sampled almost forty different food vendors and kitchens from fruits (Ross Fruits) to Lucban’s Pancit Habhab (Juan Longganisa). Our food adventure included a whopping serving of Sinigang na Panga, Sizzling Seafoods, and Inihaw na Liempo served by ALOHA GRILL. Big J Sausages were also generous to share with us a big size Sausage on Stick. We’ve also sampled The Original Bagnet Rice Patong‘s but of course, Bagnet Rice Patong! Crispy bagnet with vegetables topped on steamed rice.
This is one of the most spacious and affordable food bazaar that we’ve been to. Prices here are just right to the amount of servings of the food you’ll be ordering. A perfect example is the Sinigang na Panga which sells at Php 150 and it’s good for 3-4 persons already. The Bagnet Rice Patong sells at Php 75.
The Ilocos empanada from NE Special Empanada is also a treat for foodies who doesn’t need to travel far north of Luzon just to have a taste of an authentic Ilocos delicacies. Mrs. Po Recipes was also happy to give out samplers of their Baby Back Rib, Lumpiang Sariwa, and Pork Sisig. All of these we tasted and a lot more as we went around the food vendors and munching on these treats at the dining area.
The feast of EATS @ SM FAIRVIEW will return every weekend (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) until October 23-25, 2014.
There was a jam-packed crowd during the first night and we can predict that this will be a huge success as it continues to run until October. Given the fact that it’s rainy season and most of the people would just stay indoors, EATS @ SM FAIRVIEW is a perfect excuse to go out at night and enjoy great food, drinks, and music at SM City Fairview. Oh yeah, drinks like San Miguel Draft Beer is also available here. Cent Chua of SM City Fairview explained to us that drinks are available for those who just wish to chill out at the end of a long week. “We’re providing round the clock security just to make sure the place will be safe and enjoyable,” Chua added.
SM City Fairview vision is to serve as a dining destination of the area where casual food trippers can indulge as they taste samples from both local and International food selections.
