Showing their love and support for the Philippine Protected Animal – the Philippine Eagle, Epson and renowned fashion visionary John Herrera team up for for an Aguila-inspired collection printed on digital textile printers – Epson’s next generation textile dye-sublimation transfer printers.
The John Herrera X Epson Aguila-inspired fashion print collection was showcased on the runway held at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Grand Atrium on February 1, 2017 with 30-piece ensemble printed with Epson’s SureColor F-series dye-sublimation digital textile printers, the SureColor SC-F9270 and SC-6270.
“This partnership with Epson is very exciting. There are so many things you can do with printing compared to just buying fabric. Before, all collections by designers were done painstakingly by hand. Many of the outfits such A 3D items that are worn by the models can only be attached by hand, so what was presented on the runway cannot be worn again and again. With digital printing, the actual clothes in the collection can really be worn in real life,” said John.
True to his word, John and Epson’s Aguila-inspired collection can be worn especially during gala nights or as evening dress for parties and other celebrations. The John Herrera X Epson runway models like former boyband member Yuki Sakamoto, Scottish-Filipino model and actor Mark McMahon, and Asia’s Next Top Model S2 1st runner-up Jodilly Pendre made the collection more awe-inspiring as they strut the clothes wear together with the other models during the presentation.
“The collection I will be presenting will be impossible to do without the Epson digital textile printer. I would have to paint the designs myself if there was no Epson printer, and with only a month to prepare, it could not have been done,” said John before the fashion show presentation.
“Epson is happy to officially introduce John Herrera as the Brand Ambassador of Epson Philippines’ Commercial and Industrial Printers segment. he’s very passionate about digital textile printing which makes him a great Brand Ambassador for us to educate more people about this technology,” said Ed Bonoan, Senior General Manager and Marketing Head, Epson Philippines.
