Last night, rock band Eraserheads made a surprise appearance and made every Eheads fans dream came true after seeing Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala, and Raimund Marasigan together in one stage, one more time.
The surprise concert-themed gig happened last night during the unveiling of the new logo for a telecommunication company held in Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The Philippine alternative band gained popularity in the 90s and even to the day that the band disbanded, fans became even more interested and curious of their next move. Individual members of Eraserheads formed their own bands and are still active in the band scene.
Eraserheads had numbers of reunion concerts and tours in the past and the last public performance in the country as a band, as we could remember, was for a magazine launch where they launched the single ‘Sabado’ to their undying fans and supporters.
The four members were seen and reported touring the globe after that Philippine gig, continuing the longing of their fans for them to reunite for good.
Eraseheads performed 12 songs from their heyday such as Torpedo, Fine Time, Kama Supra, Julie Tearjerky, Walang Nagbago, Back 2 Me, Andalusian Dog, and more.
“Kumusta kayong lahat? Are you ready for more legendary music?” Ely asked the crowd before playing a soothing Maling Akala where the fans and people in suits joined in singing with the song.
Spotted within the crowd were Binibining Pilipinas 2016 beauty queens like Bb. Pilipinas International 2016 Kylie Versoza who sang along with Eraserheads music.
“Konting palakpak naman dyan. Mahina, mahina. Anyways, It’s nice to be back on the stage with these guys. It’s been a while. It’s just a rock n’ roll,” said Ely as the band prepared to slay Kaliwete on stage.
“Bro. You’re probably getting too old for this shit. Hindi. Hindi. You’re not old. We’re not old,” Ely talked to the crowd after one performance. “Salamat nga pala sa for bringing us back together again. Yeah, thanks, for bringing us back together. Uhm, let me give a hand din… sa bago niyong kulay. This one’s for you guys. Thank you.”
The band played With A Smile after Ely’s small talk.
It was like a real concert and everyone inside the venue got their front row seat exclusive ticket to that very special event. Next song was Superproxy and the crowd went wild even more.
Eraserheads played Huling El Bimbo to which Ely said, “Eto na ang huling, last song.”
You know what’s more interesting? All the pictures you see here were captured not by a big camera but from a Huawei Mate 8. A smartphone/phablet that has 16MP rear and 8MP front facing camera with a massive 4000mAh battery that will keep you up running while taking photos like with the Eraserheads kind of event.
Why bring a camera when you can go Huawei Mate 8?
