Mixed martial artists Eugene Toquero and Mark Striegl will be fighting for the country in the 2015 ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) Valor of Champions happening on April 24 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Toquero, a former Muay Thai fighter said it is not hard for him to learn mixed martial arts. He explained that it was easy for him to translate his Muay Thai skills into MMA.
“Pinag-aralan ko nang mabuti,” he said in an interview, “maganda naman ‘yong resulta dahil [nasa] kondisyon din ako ngayon, mahaba ‘yong ensayo ko.”
Toquero said he is pretty confident in winning against his opponent Brianata Rosadhi from Indonesia.
On the other hand, Filipino-American MMA Mark Striegl shared that it is overwhelming to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Valor of Champions.
“I definitely missed the Philippines,” he said, “Friday night will be my come-back fight in Manila, so I am really excited to bring it on Friday night.”
Striegl will be facing off with Casey Suire from the U.S.
Moreover, both Toquero and Striegl are undergoing serious training and proper diet to maintain their shape and good condition for the fight, and make their Filipino supporters proud.
