Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP), the sole and official music copyright society in the Philippines, together with Pioneer, one of the top life and non-life insurance companies in the country, launched today the FILSCAP Campus Caravan, a college songwriting talk that aims to guide aspiring musicians in the different aspects of songwriting.
The FILSCAP Campus Caravan will visit De La Salle University-Manila, San Beda College Alabang, UP Diliman, University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo De Manila University, San Beda Alabang, University of Makati, and Ateneo De Davao to have a songwritibg workshop talk. A face-to-face sessiob with well-known Filipino singer-songwriter, and introduce the collaboration’s second event – the #MoveOnLang Songwriting Competition.
The #MoveOnLang Songwriting Competition aimsnto give musically-inclined college students a venue to showcase their songwriting skills on the Filipino trait of resiliency – bouncing back feom setbacks. Intersted applicants can visit www.moveonlang.ph to register and aubmit their entry.
Over P260,000 in cash will be given away, with P100,000 as the grand prize. Winners will also receive insurance coverage from Pioneer, while anspecial prize will also be awarded to Online Favorite.

Established in 1965, FILSCAP is a non-stock, non-profit association of composers, lyric-writers, and music publishers, with currently over a thousand members including Ryan Cayabyab, Jose Mari Chan, Jim Paredes, Danny Javier, Rey Valera, Noel Cabangon, Yael Yuzon, and Ebe Dancel. FILSCAP is now headed by Rico Blanco, president of the association.
