Philippine tourism saw a boom in in-coming travelers from around the world when we hit a 5 million benchmark of visitors in 2015, as Tourism Promotions Board, COO, Domingo ‘Chicoy’ Enerio III has previously mentioned during the 23rd PTAA TravelTour Expo 2016 which happened last February 5-7, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia. Enerio announced this again during the renewal of partnership between TPB and Globe Telecom last February 9 that highlighted the MOA and the return of Globe Traveler SIM which will be offered to millions of tourists and returning OFWs for affordable and worry-free connectivity during their stay in the country.
In behalf of TPB, Enerio is confident that this year, 2016, the country will hit a 6 million benchmark and surpass last year’s number of visitors. “This year will be another competitive year for the Philippine tourism,a s TPB intends to remain aggressive in securing its rightful share of the tourist market. Because of our competitive fire, we are confident that more foreign travelers will choose to visit the Philippines over any other destination and more will be delighted to return to the country this year,” Enerio added.
Through Globe’s International Business Group, the partnership between TPB of the Department of Tourism will continue to promote the Philippines as one of Asia’s top tourist destinations via Visit the Philippines Again (VPA) 2016 campaign.
