Halloween 2018 at Azumi Boutique Hotel Alabang

Book & Buy

This year, I didn’t only go to a Halloween party with my daughter (who thinks she’s already too old for trick-or-treating at age 12). It’s definitely a first for me to be in a back-to-back Halloween pool party and staycation with new friends/fellow bloggers, thanks to Azumi Boutique Hotel located at Madrigal Business Park in Alabang.

During our staycation day 1 of 2, I attended Blogapalooza (a get-together for bloggers and influencers) so I checked in late but came just in time for the Azumi Swalloween (Swim + Halloween) Night.

Azumi Hotel’s got one of the best swimming pools south of Manila that’s very popular among Instagram influencers and celebrities. It is located at the penthouse, which gives this saltwater infinity-like pool bonus points complete with a great view-from-the-top experience.

I didn’t swim during Swalloween Night as I prioritized hours of getting-to-know-you chatting with my roommates (with unli-snacks and unli-booze that made partying a whole lot of fun 😉🥃). The morning after a.k.a. staycation day 2 of 2 was my preferred time for a quick swim and DIY “photoshoot” (more about that later).

Here’s what happened during Swalloween Night:

Another popular spot for Instagrammers inside Azumi Hotel is the lobby area with comfy couch seats plus framed photos and figurines on shelves. Guests hang out here while waiting (for their rooms to be ready for check in, for available seating inside the hotel’s official restaurant Romulo Cafe, and for their ride home upon check-out). This is also where you can access WiFi when using your laptops and mobile phones while you chill, or just be more “old school” and read magazines or have face-to-face conversations. There’s even Nail Spa for your mani-pedi needs and other beauty services.

Our room was the dorm-type one that we consider as #squadgoals. There were four of us “staycationers” and we each got a surprise welcome pack from the Azumi Hotel team that included a bottle of sparkling water, a neck pillow, skincare gift certificates, an umbrella and snacks. The usual necessities such as towels, bath and body kits and hotel slippers were also provided.

Overnight accommodation at Azumi Hotel comes with breakfast buffet by Romulo Cafe at the ground floor. It was my second time as a diner at this resto but during my first visit, I only ordered their specialty Suman Latik for my afternoon snack.

Last but absolutely not the least, our Azumi staycation won’t be complete without—like what I mentioned earlier—swimming in the saltwater pool (and taking lots of pics for social media purposes 😄). Despite experiencing “hot summer weather” on a ber month like October, we used natural sunlight to our advantage for that perfect, no-heavy-filters-needed photos.

This slideshow will show you how picturesque and breathtaking the pool area is during daytime:

Do take note that there’s the Cavana Lounge near the pool should you want to drink and dine before and right after swimming, but don’t want to go down and out of the hotel.
