HTC Butterfly is a Qualcomm Snapdragon technology with a 5 inch full screen, phablet (phone-tablet). Richard Javier, HTC Philippines Country Manager opens the floor acknowledging media for the support they have given for the past years, adding that “competitions are getting scared of this (HTC Butterfly) product,” says Javier.
HTC Trade Marketing Officer Nicole Chiu, presented the performance powerhouse of HTC Butterfly during the much-awaited launch. Chiu loudly introduced the 4 basic features of the new phablet, such as Amazing Camera and Sound; High Performance; Stunning View; and Premium Design.
Amazing Camera and Sound
HTC Butterfly has an 8mp camera designed for and capture images up to 1080p. It also has a 2.1mp front camera with HTC Image Chip that can be use for continuous shooting and capture up to 99 frames. Intelligent flash that measures lighting correctly, video stabilizers for shaky hands, and slow motion video capture. Something everybody would love to go about and play with the smartphone’s feature.
The authentic sound is provided with the continuous partner with Beats Audio that has built-in amplifier.
As leading smartphone brands in the country, HTC Butterfly is a Qualcomm S4 Pro, HTC Sense 4+, and Android Jelly Bean.
A first for smartphones with highest PPI (pixels per inch) quality, that equals to 440 PPI. Every detail is crisp and clear with Unrivaled clarity. Got a cinematic experience that gives stunning quality.
According to Nicole, this is the first HTC she saw with stunning design. 5 full screen inches and the slimmest of all the brand’s design, thinnest at 99 mm.
HTC Butterfly is available in two colors, Red Black, patterned on the color of a sexy Ferrari, and the other is White Silver.
Fun Factor and Sexy Back Butterfly
For what you can call it’s fun factor, HTC Butterfly is water and damaged resistance with a curved edge design smooth at the back. A sexy back HTC phablet, indeed.
With 220maph battery it can last a whole day without charging.
Price and Availability
Priced at Php 32,190, the HTC Butterfly is available in the open market and as of press time, HTC Philippines is still in the works of bundling the product with telecoms company.
Minor Things to Consider
Despite its great and almost advanced technology, HTC Butterfly is not yet LTE (Long Term Evolution), a pre-requisite for most of the latest releases of smartphones in the global standards. A few steps behind HTC 8X which is already capable of LTE connections.
Price is relatively high compared to other brands in the same level, and HTC acknowledged it, simply because the pricing entails the high performance design compared to leading brands, according to Richard.
When asked why it was only today that they launched HTC Butterfly when it is already been in the market for quite sometime. Francis Torno, HTC Marketing, explained that they have to let it sit for a while in the market properly before launching the product. Testing the market, huh.
Originally named J Butterfly and initially sold for Japan market, HTC Butterfly is seen with a lot of potentials for the Southeast Asia market, dropping the ‘J‘ to simply Butterfly.for Asian market thy just named it butterfly.
Lastly, to clarify few details, although HTC Butterfly is equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen, HTC Philippines pointed out that HTC Butterfly is NOT shock and scratch proof but resistant to specific degree and materials. It’s not also recommended to give your HTC Butterfly the ‘submerge to the water‘ test, but it is water-resistant and shower-proof, says Chiu.
