The largest fast food chain, also known as the number one family fast food chain in the Philippines, Jollibee, is keeping true to their mission to keep Filipino families at heart by sending support to victims of Habagat and Typhoon Maring by donating Php 2 million to the relief efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
In addition, Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) and Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF), the company’s corporate social responsibility arm, have extended relief assistance to critically hit areas in Metro Manila and Luzon. Maring‘s estimated damaged was pegged at Php 67 million when it left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), early Wednesday, August 21.
In coordination with local government units, they donated sacks of rice to evacuation centers in Cavite (Cavite City, Kawit, Bacoor and Noveleta), Pampanga (San Fernando) and Bataan (Dinalupihan). As in previous years, JFC and JGF have also turned over in-kind donations to the GMA Kapuso Foundation, ABS-CBN Foundation, Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Gawad Kalinga and Philippine Red Cross to reach out to as many affected families as possible.
