According to internetlivestats.com, there are about 3 billion Internet users in the world for 2015. But that only represents 40% of the world’s total population.
China leads the list of the world’s with the most number of users according to List of Countries by Internet Usage (2014) with 641,601,070 people or 24% country’s share of world Internet users. United States comes in 2nd (9,58%), and India at 3rd (8.33%). Japan, Brazil, Russia, Germany, Nigeria, United Kingdom, and France are all included on the Top 10 List of Countries by Internet Usage (2014), respectively.
Philippines ranked at the 16th spot with 39,470,845 users or only 1.35% country’s share of world Internet users.
“Active Filipino Internet users now go by the millions. Whether we admit it or not, going online and depending on the Internet and our devices means it is likely that we’ll lose a certain portion of our personal privacy,” said Jimmy Fong, Channel Sales Director of Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia.
70% of the users are concerned that someone could gain access to their personal files, 61% worry that there may be programs on their devices collecting information about them, and 49% do not trust their own webcams – the cameras are known to be frequent used to spy on device owners. These numbers were shown on Kaspersky Lab’s Consumer IT Security Risks Survey 2015.
This brought to the attention of Kaspersky Lab and why they are enhancing the privacy features of the latest versions of its flagship security solutions for Filipino home users – Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS), Kaspersky Anti-Virus (KAV), and Kaspersky Internet Security – Multi-Device (KIS-MD) are developed specifically to protect what matters most to users: their privacy, data, identity, money, and the device itself.

Kaspersky Lab’s security product suites have updated privacy features that include: Private Browsing, Change Control, Privacy Cleaner, and Webcam protection.
