Kata T4’s launch came after another game-changing device, Kata Box that has gone sold-out (as we speak) in the market due to its features that can change TV and entertainment lifestyle through an affordable and compact device.
“In technology, you gotta catch up, number one. Once you caught up, you need to level up, and right now we are taking it to different levels. Not only have we learned, we have mastered it,” Chen said. And that maybe one of the factor why Kata keeps on improving and producing more devices to fit every lifestyle.
“Our tablet (T4) has a TV folder and you can access Netflix, CBS and all that stuff. No one else has built a device like that and we have this because we’re doing this as service. We’re always been a service company. We started out as an IDD company. So now, this device, we flipped it to provide service, and this is what we have always been,” Chen mentioned during one of his media conversations.
Kata T4 held its official launch in the Philippines last November 13 at the SM Megamall Cinema 6, and was well attended by numerous tech and lifestyle personalities in the local blogosphere.
“We are very proud of the new Kata T4, it has been sometime before we have launched another tablet. Kata T4 is an all-around tablet. It’s your lifestyle partner,” said Hermie Marcelo, Marketing Manager, Kata Philippines as she briefly announced the latest device from Kata inside Cinema 6.
No additional fanfare, the launch highlighted the specs and features of the T4 via the silver screen. The power packed 7.85″ tablet has a Super HD Display for better viewing allowing crisp and detailed colors to be viewed in a large, clear screen. Kata T4 introduces intuitive and exciting user interface and runs on Android KitKat 4.4 OS. It also has dual SIM slots, with enhanced GSM capabilities.
The device weighs only 400g and is available in Grey and Gold colors, with premium matte finish.
Kata has the advantage of being price savvy in this highly competitive market – whereas other brands are constantly competing to showcase the best of their app offerings at more exorbitant prices. Kata believes that it’s all about providing a quality high tech products without ‘burning a hole in your pocket’.
Kata T4 is available for only PhP 5,999. Flip cover and screen protector are also available for PhP 600 and PhP 300 each.
Next year, Chen said he is eyeing to expand to Malaysia and Taiwan. Eventually, he is also seeking to venture to South Korea and other Southeast Asian markets such as Myanmar and Cambodia.
Going public and offering Kata’s shares to the investors is among the company’s long-term plans, he said.
