As Edwin Totanes, Vice-President and General Manager for URC Beverage Division, pointed it out, “C2 is not just about celebrating its 10 years in the food and beverage market but to be also relevant to every consumer” by allowing them (URC) to see what C2 Green Tea means to people. Through C2 Green Tea music video making contest, young talents were given their chance to voice out, speak about the Sarap ng Buhay, and what it means to everyone’s lives.
Right on that track, Krizelle Ching wins C2 Green Tea Sarap ng Bukas music video making contest with heart-warming message, and took home the sum of Php 150,000 and Php 10,000 worth of C2 Green Tea products besting hundreds of entries.
“Mas magandang isipin natin kung para kanino nga ba ang Sarap ng Bukas. Ito ba ay para sa atin na siguradong may bukas pa na darating o para sa mga taong walang kasiguruduhan kung may darating pang bukas sa buhay nila? (It’s best to know whose life deserves a sweeter tomorrow. Is it for us who know that there is a bright future ahead or will it be for those who aren’t sure if they will see the light of another wonderful day?”
These words came from Krizelle and her team from Cainta, Rizal, during the interview after they accepted their winning prize. Even the host, Gelli Victor was caught in tears after viewing their Looking Forward to Tomorrow music video entry. The video wasn’t predictable and the joyful mood of sharing C2 bottled drinks to different people whom the main character of the video met on the street, were shown on the early part of the video. The main character, a young girl, was wearing a pink hoodie covering her head. It led us to think why that girl wears a hoodie jacket and covering her head during a sunny day? “She seems to have plenty of money buying C2 to give it away to everyone she meets on the street,” we thought of.
Only did we realize that in the last scene of the video that the character was a sick girl, probably undergoing chemotherapy. She was seen sitting on a wheel chair and as she took off the hoodie covering her head. A girl without hair was shown on the screen. That image startled everyone watching that particular scene. So, that was it’s all about. With all her sickness, this brave girl still faces tomorrow with joy in her heart, sharing happiness and love to the people she meets. That sends a shiver into our hearts as well. Will the girl continue to live up for another tomorrow?
It was a heart-warming and touching message that if you’ll ask us, might be the reason this video won the 1st prize. Krizelle and her team deserved that recognition.
Gharawi Usman won second place with Php 100,000 cash prize and Php 5,000 worth of C2 Green Tea products; and Chloe Anne A. Veloso won third place, Php 50,000 and Php 2,000 worth of C2 Green Tea products.
Seven more finalists received cash prize of Php 10,000 each whose videos were scored by panel of judges in terms of creative execution, technical execution, and depiction of the Sarap ng Bukas theme. They are Patrick Jason Bayani (4th); Paul Julius Sy (5th); Lorenz Roi Morales (6th); Geriza dela Cruz (7th); Jose Ma. Antonio Gonzales (8th); Romulo Jose Domagas (9th); and Annabelle Jane Masculino (10th). Apart from cash prizes, the winners received special gift packs from C2 Green Tea.
To spiced up this year’s contest, C2 also awarded Jeanmehwah Dagum of Caloocan City the Fan’s Choice Award, having the video entry with the most number of online votes. Dagum took home Php 20,000.
Also this year and in line with the coming May 2013 Election, C2 encourages everyone to “Keep your vote Cool & Clean.”
