Having problems and painful experiences is inevitable. Some may think that they are alone and no one can understand what they’re going through. Even fear of sharing it to others conquers them because they believe nobody can relate to them.
To this, Kerygma Books, published by leading inspirational media outlet Shepherd’s Voice Publication, started helping them through their books which are written by Catholic lay people. They have been publishing for almost 25 years, mostly devotionals, magazines, inspirational, personal finance and even relationship books.
Been there, done that. This is what easy-reads Filipino writers such as Rissa Singson Kawpeng, Obet Cabrillas, Marjorie Duterte, Arun Gogna, and Rosanne C. Romero want to tell those people who have been struggling yet don’t know how to deal with it. To their eagerness to help, they give simple, practical and sensible tips or which we know as “Life Hacks” that they have learned through their very own experience.
Change your words, change your life
This what Arun Gogna told in his book Today is your Day, saying how powerful spoken words are and how these words can create our realities. He also have this other book entitled Lasting Gifts where he imparts wisdom on how to make your children feel valued and cared of.
Go, grow and glow
“You need need to grow (spiritually, emotionally and personally) by being away from that person. Life is all about moving on. So love yourself enough to move on,” Obet Cabrillas shares in his book Itanong Mo kay Daddy-O. He also explained in it that the most powerful kind of love is one that knows hot to let go, let grow and let glow.
Clarity is Power
Cabrillas also wrote a book entitles Spell Out You Love where he mentioned how important it is to spell out our deepest feelings. “When we are able to identify our feelings and desires, we can assert ourselves without being offensive and arrogant,” he said.
Forgive others, not for them, but for you
For Marjorie Duterte, forgiveness for those who gave hurt you is the best way to heal brokenness. “People who are hurt, hurt people. Forgiveness allows us to love ourselves, and therefor allows us to love other people effectively,” Duterte shared in her book Love Yourself.
Life has its seasons and we need to learn to respect them
“You can’t pull out an emerging butterfly from its cocoon or else you’ll cripple its wings for life,” Rissa Singson Kawpeng stated in her book Confessions of an Impatient Bride as she wants to share how important waiting. “There is a purpose for our waiting. There are certain times and seasons for everything.” she added.
Kawpeng also wrote Love Handles, for those who are single people, telling them that they should enjoy their lives. “Some people think they will find their happiness when they find their One True Love. Wrong! If you’re not a happy single person, chances are you won’t be a happy married person either,” she explained.
Patienly endure tests ad temptations
In her another book, Something Happened on My Way to Happy Ever After, Kawpeng shared advice to couples who are under circumstances and how they should face it together.
Nurture yourself with love and affection in the right place
Having a baby is one of the greatest gift from God. But to be a good parent, you need to value yourself and believe that you can be the best parent in the world, this is what Josephine Holgado, M.D.’s book, Your Newborn is a Blessing, wants to tell us.
Parenting is a mission
Emphasized in Amusing Grace, book written by Rosanne C. Romero, is the notion that your children have this certain personality types. Raising kids a hands-on experience, she says, and it is not an academic course. You fine-tune responses as you learn, and it doesn’t really end anywhere.
The “Life Hacks’ indicated above are just few of the things you can learn from their books. With this, Bo Sanchez, a popular inspirational speaker, stated how these books can help those who are really in need, “What makes these books so engaging is the sincerity. These authors are not just sharing lessons–they are sharing with you their loves. They know your struggles because they too have been there. And they are going to help you go through it.”
Kerygma launched these books at Fully Booked Forum and four among the said authors shared their thoughts while writing their respective books.
Their books are now available in all leading bookstores nationwide. You can also purchase the books in digital format by visiting www.kerygmabooks.com.
