From the outside, Madison’s Bistro Moderne looks too intimidating. Oh boy, they look so classy. Even us were kinda aloof in visiting this bistro-bar-restaurant. Good thing that TeamAsia invited us to Madison’s Bistro Moderne’s grand launch and that’s where we found out that it’s a really cool place to enjoy good conversation, good laugh, not that loud music, and great ambiance for friends, family and for those who are dating. I’ll tell you a secret. Their Tri-color Ravioli is fantastic!
“We’ve been under the radar and we’ve just soft-open for the last month and a half, or so. Just fine tuning dishes, fine tuning services, making sure everything’s ready right where we want it to be. And that’s why we kinda waited for this launch. Tonight is just a let-me -know kinda thing. We are excited,” says Stephen, Operations Manager, Madison’s Bistro Moderne when he sat down with us just as everyone is coming over for the bar-restaurant grand launch just beside the ground floor of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Manila.
“We have international comfort food, cuisine, nothing too serious, nothing to pretentious. Nice bistro portions, good prices, nice ambiance, good service, that’s kinda what we’re all about. Offering quality but not ripping people off for it,” Stephen added.
Madison’s Bistro Moderne caters mostly to the 30s to 40s demographic. Sometimes in the mid-20s kinda range. They’re open for breakfast (they have a deli next door) and lunch with business people coming in. The fact is, they’re getting good rave reviews in social media, especially in Foursquare. Their most raved food are the ravioli and Speck with Goat Cheese. And on Facebook, they already got 8,799 likes (as of this writing) in two months. Wow!
“We kinda reinvents the modern bistro. By that I mean, you can still have white table clothes, in service, but it doesn’t have to be fine dining. You know the portion sizes are there, it’s really kind of comfort food. That to me is what a bistro is. You can come in on flip-flops, shorts, they are totally acceptable. That’s kinda we want for people to know, no preconceptions, just come in and enjoy some good food, relax.”
This article won’t be good enough for you to appreciate Madison’s Bistro Moderne. So we suggest for you to visit them anytime you’re in the area. They’re open from 11 AM to 2 AM, or until there are customers enjoying the vibe of the place.
And for the thirsty quenchers, it’s only Php 85 for local beers!
Trivia: You can find here at Madison’s Bistro Moderne the most expensive whisky, the Strathisla that costs at around Php 70,000 per bottle. Just so you know.
