Prepare to welcome the Year of the Fire Rooster this coming Chinese New Year and celebrate with the whole family at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila with sumptuous Cantonese dishes combining traditional and modern culinary techniques by Executive Chinese Chef, Raymond Yeung with his Yin and Yang set menus for lunch at Lung Hin. The feast starts on January 28 with Marites Allen, Feng Shui expert to welcome a new year full of blessings.
On January 27, there will be a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Grand Ballroom. located on the 7th Floor of the hotel with live entertainment, calligraphy making, and display of Feng Shui cures and enhancers, for guests to enjoy.
The Yin set menu includes Prosperity Toss with Salmon Fish “Yu Sheng”, Braised Pork Tongue Soup with Dried Oyster and Black Moss, Braised Crab Meat with Dried Scallop and Asparagus, Stir-fried Prawn with Asparagus and Red Wine Pear, Lung Hin Braised Sea Cucumber Casserole and Assorted Seafood in Hot Pot, Braise Pork Knuckle with Black Moss and Vegetables, Fried Rice with Taro and Chinese Sausage, Pan-fried Coconut and Brown Sugar Sticky Rice Cake Combination, and Sweetened Cashew Nut with Sesame Dumpling. All of these for P26,800++ for 10 persons.
The Yang set menu includes Prosperity Toss with Salmon Fish “Yu Sheng”, Shredded Duck Soup with Fish Lips, Sauteed Shrimp and Pacific Clam with Vegetable in Oyster Sauce, Steamed Whole Garoupa with Light Soy Sauce, Braised Abalone with Black and Golden Mushroom in Oyster Sauce, Deep Fried Hong Kong Pigeon, Braised E-Fu Noodles with Assorted Mushrooms in Abalone Sauce, Pan-fried Coconut and Brown Sugar Sticky Rice Cake Combination, and Deep-fried Chocolate Buchi. All of these for P29,800++ for 10 persons.
The Yin and Yang set menus also includes a symbolic rice cakes, presented in round cakes with yam and brown sugar flavours for P988, and special Koi-shaped coconut flavor for P1,188.
We were fortunate to have the first dibs on the Yin and Yang set menus a few days ago and it was our first time to dine-in at Lung Hin. Lung Hin is a contemporary specialty restaurant located on the 44th floor of the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila tower which features authentic Cantonese cuisine and fresh seafood. The chic interiors and expansive layout of the main restaurant and the exclusively appointed private dining rooms are ideal venues for intimate gatherings.
Part of our first dibs was our participation to the traditional and colorful Prosperity Toss (also known as lou sang or yee sang). It’s a fun and tasty salad combining nuts, salmon fish, shredded vegetables, and pickled ginger that symbolize abundance, prosperity, and vigor. Prosperity Toss is also one of the dishes most Malaysian Chinese anticipate and look forward to during the celebration of Chinese New Year.
