Mober, a first on-demand delivery mobile application in the Philippines introduced earlier this year, is an all Filipino owned startup which allows its users to book and manage deliveries for business and personal use. It has a user-friendly interface, which makes booking as easy as hiring a taxi service online.
Adrian Marin, Mober’s point person, explained to us key points of how Mober works, from installing the app and how it offers business opportunities for SMEs dealing in e-commerce, catering services, party planners, to name just a few, and for people who want to earn extra income by joining the Mober program as drivers (transportation network vehicle service owners) and earn 80% income for each delivery services.

How it works?
Mober app lets users send anything they want, so long it fits in one of their vehicles. Orders may consist of transporting just a single box or loading up a van with several bulky items. It may be applicable for store-based businesses who deliver online sellers like those found on online classified ads and online shopping sites.
Where does Mober delivers and how much?
Currently, Mober only picks up and delivers boxes in Metro Manila, but htere are already plans of expanding the service to cover metro Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Davao. The fare is calculated much like that of the app-based commuter services, a sit depends on the type of vehicle requested and the distance between pickup and drop-off locations. The minimum fare is PhP 500 for Van and PhP 750 for VanPlus service, wherein van porter can help load and unload the items from point to point.
The Base Fare is PhP 250 and PhP 450, respectively, with additional PhP 25 per kilometer and PhP 2.50 per minute. At the moment, Mober services are on cash basis.
Mober, which is the brainchild of Dennis Ng, was launched to address the logistics needs of SMEs and even individuals who need to transport a sundry of items for their household. The company seeks to address the need for more efficient and cost-effective delivery by offering an app that will meet the logistics requirements of SMEs. Individuals, companies, or business owners can now book a van through the app to have their goods picked up and deliver to them through door-to-door service.
Mober app pick up and delivers cargo items from furniture, appliances, bazaar items, even pets, and almost anything as long it fits the Van or VanPlus vehicles.
Mober app is more convenient and practical than hiring a lipat-bahay truck. Even those arriving from airport can likewise have their balikbayan boxes and baggage safely transported to their homes.
Mober app can also pick up and deliver big items that you’ve purchased from malls.
Cargo are insured for up to PhP 50,000.
Efficient tracking and cargo guarantee
To guarantee a safe and efficient delivery, the mobile app allows users to track and share drivers’ progress in real-time, and the process is backed by a service hotline to help with customer problems and inquiries. Upon drop-off, senders receive a confirmation of delivery.
How long does it take for a driver to arrive?
If a user has pre-scheduled the delivery, the driver will be expected to arrive on time. With on-demand service, the average arrival time is an estimate of 30 and 60 minutes upon confirmation. Delivery trips are kept exclusive for each booking, wherein Mober drivers are not allowed to pick up orders from multiple clients.
