Hate to break this but contrary to some critics predictions, Michael Bay‘s reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (2014) wasn’t a shallow one. We too got the initial thoughts that we’d be bombarded with hundred million of dollars special effects that would ‘kill’ the story-line but we were wrong. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (2014) movie kicks-ass, admit it or not. But of course, we could not please everyone.
And for those, and that include us, who think that Megan Fox would not fit to play April O’Neil because of her too much good look, well, fortunately for her, she did just well in this TMNT 2014 movie.
The Guardian thinks TMNT is a hollow shell. http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/aug/07/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-2014-review
We saw TMNT last night at Promenade Cinema with the fear that we’ll be going to get bored with visual effects but we’ve got stuck in our seats for 1 hour and 45 minutes enjoying every minute of the film.
The story-line was interestingly new but has mix of every aspects of the origins of the turtles, Splinter, Shredder, and April.
We give TMNT 2014 5/5 score. Thanks to Bay, he did not pushed his signature explosive scenes too much and too far.
As for Rotten Tomatoes, they gave TMNT 4.3/10.
And for Megan, she’s always hot! No bummer. But just a reminder, this reboot is not entirely meant for kids because of the very much adult themed, but definitely it’s for the kids at heart.
Comics Alliance said it’s the worst entry in the film franchise. http://comicsalliance.com/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-movie-2014-review/
Whatever bad reviews TMNT 2014 are getting at after the release of this movie, we still don’t mind. Yes, the 4 turtles look pretty scary in the movie but we did enjoy. Don’t expect too much. Just relax and watch this movie.
