In line with Resorts World Manila‘s 5th Anniversary Give Me 5 celebrations, the integrated premier leisure and entertainment hub in the country welcomed NBA‘s ‘Little General‘, the legendary and former Dallas Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson, to it’s quest to support International sports tourism. A meet and greet was hosted by RWM for the NBA Legend at Passion restaurant last September 13.
Avery Johnson was very happy to be here in Manila and was truly amazed of what he saw during this trip to formally announce the NBA and Resorts World Manila’s partnership to provide basketball-crazed Filipino fans with a chance to experience the world’s top professional basketball league. “We are extremely proud and appreciative of the trust the NBA has shown towards RWM through this exciting partnership,” said RWM Chief Operating Officer Stephen Reilly.
Last year, RWM also hosted events with former NBA MVPs Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose when they visited the country and conducted interview sessions at Maxims Hotel and Marriott Hotel Manila, respectively. We were there when Kobe gave out his inspirational words for our Team Gilas Pilipinas. See the video ‘What Kobe Bryant thinks of Gilas Pilipinas’ here.
Back to the NBA and RWM partnership. This partnership allows RWM members access to different NBA happenings such as NBA viewing events, NBA 2K tournaments, as well as NBA 3X Philippines 2015, and Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA reception parties.
Former coach Johnson was accompanied by the Laker Girls and NBA Philippines Country Manager Carlo Singson during the hosted event at RWM.
