And so we went early in the morning of September 6 rushing through the highways of EDSA because we don’t want to get late from a very special and important occasion. It’s just we’ve got invited by Megaworld Fort to experience a whole day lifestyle adventure set at the great McKinley Hill! Dig that, huh! Ted Claudio of WazzupPH was our ride from Quezon Ave. and we arrived in McKinley Hill just before the clock starts for the one adventurous day! Yours truly, The Juan Manila and 9 more bloggers, including WazzupPH were invited for this fun-filled Saturday for the #ILOVEMKH The Great McKinley Hill Lifestyle Experience.
We were the early bird, we came in as early as 8 in the morning, so we were also the ones who sampled BLACK CANYON COFFEE at Tuscany of their delectable breakfast meal served for us as we prep up for an active day. We need this power meal before we start off anything that that we will have to face-off. Nicole Adarme, Marketing Communications Officer, Megaworld, told us it’s gonna be a one big challenging day so we better grab a bite on that specific morning. Black Canyon Coffee was the first of all the Lifestyle Stations that day, making the breakfast venue the WORK Station for the day.
We ordered a combo of tapa and tocino with egg that comes with the special brewed Black Canyon Coffee to go with it. We’re amused of the rectangular shape of the fried rice and by that we know that the people behind this meal worked artistically hard for this dish. As we started to chow, all the other bloggers started to arrive one by one. Raffy Pedrajita of Digital Spidey, Ian Bacungan of The Rogue Writer, and Marlon Magtira for TechTV got on board as well as FPJ of ManualToLyf and husband and wife team Jonel Uy and Marjorie Pineda-Uy of Seats For Two came in. We were already enjoying our meal while the rest took photos of the place and the food that were being served when travel blogger Ferdz Decena of Ironwulf En Route came in next. The initial plan was to have us all 10 bloggers to be briefed in before we go to the next stop station.
Black Canyon Coffee sits at Megaworld‘s largest township (as seen on the photo above) development, McKinley Hill. McKinley Hill is the perfect LIVE-LEARN-WORK-PLAY-SHOP community with a land bank of 50 hectares, that is 500,000 sqm. all-in-all inside Fort Bonifacio. Inspired by cities in Italy and Spain, McKinley Hill brings to the Philippines the sophisticated culture of Southern Europe. Exuding beauty, class, and elegance at every turn. McKinley Hill by the way is among the metro’s most exciting venues for investment.

Here’s a little trivia. Contrary to popular belief, McKinley Hill should spell as it is and does not include the letter ‘s’ at the end of the name. Call it superstitious beliefs, but when you count all the letters of McKinley Hill it all totaled to 12 letters only.
And our coaches (yeah, we would love to call them coaches for that day!), don’t want to waste time and encouraged everyone to get on the next challenge which is the LEARN Station where all participants will have to join the ENDERUN COLLEGES Cooking Challenge.
The clock ticks at 9 o’clock already. And oh yeah, that’s our turf! Actually, when we heard that there will be some cooking, we got even more excited. But the catch here, we have to cook for our own lunch so there’s no excuses for those who can’t cook and they have to face the challenge also. But there’s no problem with that because all of us have our mentor, Senior Chef Martin Punzalan who taught us through a short course on How to Cook Beef Tenderloin Rossini flavored with truffle Risotto and Foie Gras.
Annalyn Jusay of Annalyn.Net went straight to Enderun Colleges so she missed the hearty breakfast at Black Canyon Coffee at Tuscany but anyways, she had all the time to prepare for her meal together with her partner for the challenge, Ironwulf En Route. Enderun Colleges has been a proud anchor tenant in McKinley Hill since 2007. McKinley Hill, with its global vision, has played an integral part in providing a unique learning environment to Enderun Colleges students by complementing a world-class facilities and International standards in education. Since 2007, Enderun Colleges has grown exponentially and looks forward to growing continually in McKinley Hill for years to come.
Our task that morning when we enter inside Enderun Colleges was to cook for our lunch and to think that it was just easy, well, all we can say is we had fun during that challenge. Beef Tenderloin Rossini flavored with truffle Risotto and Foie Gras is a dish known for its exquisite flavor and it’s very expensive when you order it in a fine-dining restaurant or hotels. The ingredients that make up this dish is not just the ones that you can buy in your local market or if there is one, that would be expensive to buy.
Now we know, why Beef Tenderloin Rossini flavored with truffle Risotto and Foie Gras cost much in restaurants. One serving of this will cost you an average of Php 1,200 or more, mind you. But there we were like chef’s on fire battling it out to learn how to cook Beef Tenderloin Rossini flavored with truffle Risotto and Foie Gras.
Our partner for this task is Raffy of Digital Spidey.
It was fun and at the end of the challenge we all walked out of the kitchen with pride on our faces. After all, we got to learn and earn cooking recognition from Enderun Colleges, aside from we all got to had our lunch, finally!
Aside from completing the challenge, all of us 10 got our 1-Day Culinary Boot Camp certificates, almost equivalent in finishing one short-course, that if we would have to enroll amounts to or around Php 10,000.
See? Just by joining the Learn Station, there’s this certificate that we can be proud of to bring home.
