This year, we were back for the second time in Cebu. We were in Cebu last Sinulog Festival in January and this time it’s for the Weather Philippines Foundation Social Media Summit held last July 21-22, 2016. Our flight and hotel accommodation for the 2-day summit was sponsored by Weather Philippines in partnership with Cebu Pacific Air and Summit Circle Hotel. Weather Philippines Foundation invited several bloggers from Manila representing Weather Wiser Influencers to the Social Media for Knowledge Mobilization and Disaster Preparedness with Rappler Philippines and City Savings last July 22.
Educators from Cebu universities and schools were also invited to this event where Rappler and Weather Philippines shared insights on how to use the social media responsibly. The Weather Philippines app was also introduced to the attendees as their online and mobile support for weather information.
We arrived one day before the event proper and we checked in at Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu together with the rest of EATgeatway, a group of 3 bloggers whose passion is to travel and discover hidden gems across the Philippines. Our travel time from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Quest Hotel was less than an hour. Good thing there was not much of traffic delay that Wednesday morning. We booked GrabTaxi ride from the airport to the hotel. The cab fare totaled P260.
We heard that GrabCar was already on its pilot run and we tried to book one but there were no available drivers nearby so we had to choose for GrabTaxi instead.
It was already noon when we reached Quest Hotel and our team were met by Miss Beth Aguirre, Front Office Manager, upon our arrival. Quest Hotel Cebu is located along Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Cebu City.
Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu prides itself with numerous awards and lives up to its cool, clean, comfy image and affordable 3 star hotel.
Miss Beth and her staff warmly welcomed us at the lobby and assisted us up to our designated hotel rooms. We were allotted with two rooms, 1133 and 1135, one with double twin bed and the other one with a king-sized bed. Quest Hotel at the moment have 427 rooms, combinations of standard deluxe and suite rooms. They also have rooms with balcony.
Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu is the first Quest Hotel in the Philippines. It is a 3 star hotel with an affordable lifestyle. It aims to combine the value of premium budget hotels with unique and inspiring designs, creative hospitality concepts and state of the art technology for travelers seeking a stylish and unpretentious working environment.
This was actually our second time to stay at Quest Hotel and it’s always nice to come back to this place. Quest Hotel Cebu is a sister-hotel of Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan under Filinvest Hotel Property.
Ian Baol, Marcom Officer, also introduced us their latest MICE program called “VIP”.
VIP stands for 2 things. As a product, it’s about the Value-packed menus, Intriguing concepts and Personalized service which they offer in their meetings packages, according to Ian.
As well, VIP also dictates the different kinds of menus available, with Vegetarian, International and Pinoy menus to choose from, and choosing from a set menu speeds up the meeting preparation process.
Once a client selects their Pinoy menu, for example, chefs will prepare Pinoy favorites like puto, kutchinta, fried bananas, dinuguan, suman, fresh Cebuano mangoes, the list goes on, to surely satiate meeting attendants in the menu of their choosing. Vegetarian, but not “vegan,” will include more refreshing canapes while international menu will serve things like mini burgers or sliders, fries or mini sandwiches.
Do you feel hungry now? Well, if you’re stayed in at Quest Hotel Cebu, you’ll be able to try their award-winning breakfast buffet at PUSO Bistro and Bar. PUSO Bistro and Bar is highly recommended by guests who have been to Quest Hotel Cebu. Even guests from nearby hotels are drawn to PUSO Bistro and Bar, as told on Facebook by a frequent Cebu traveler.
Quest Hotel Cebu is also a perfect place to stay especially if you’re visiting the city. From Quest Hotel Cebu you can go around the area like we did when we went out for lunch at House of Lechon. From Quest Hotel Cebu, we booked a GrabCar ride to SM Seaside City Cebu. We also visited SM City Cebu before heading back to the hotel that evening.
EATgetaway team was very much satisfied of the overall service of Quest Hotel. It was just a short call of time that we had to check-in at Summit Circle Hotel the next day to prepare for the social media summit.
We would like to thank our friends from Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan for hooking us up for a complimentary overnight stay at Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu. It was a great experience once again to be at Quest Hotel Cebu.
