For the millennials and 90s kids, they’ve known Ricky Gervais as the creator of The Office, the man who advocates for animal rights, a comedian, and the all-time favorite Golden Globes emcee.
But did they think that Ricky Gervais looked like this before?
Before he became this?
Oh no! Not that one. But this.
Just to freshen up your memory. Ricky and friend Bill Macrae was once a British synth-pop duo back in the 80s when they formed Seona Dancing in 1982. Although quite popular, Seona Dancing never made it big time internationally speaking, but interestingly their “More To Lose” became a massive hit in the Philippines among the rebellious New Wave youth who slam dancing pogo-style their creeper shoes in disco clubs and classic radio stations that played unadulterated new wave hits.
DWXB 102.7 FM, another cult new wave radio station, found the song and gave the real title and artist as “More To Lose” by Seona Dancing, and the rest was marked in Philippine radio history.
Today, Ricky is a well-known celebrity and the returning host for the 2016 Golden Globes Award which will take place on Monday, January 11, 2016 from its traditional haunt at the Beverly Hilton.
The Golden Globe Award is an American accolade bestowed by the 90 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign. The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards is hosted by Ricky Gervais.
