If you love seafood and lots of seafood, there’s this place in Ermita that you can visit and make your own ‘dampa pa-luto’ style just across your table within minutes or so.
The seafood restaurant that has been around for more than 29 years now brandishes a new and modern design accentuated with a more upscale royal look and is now named Sabreen’s Seafood Market and Restaurant. Under its new management, Sabreen’s continues the legacy of the old Seafood Market giving modern touch to make every customer’s visit a worthwhile experience. And the EAT Getaway guys couldn’t agree more.
Just right across the famous Hizon’s along J. Bocobo Street in Ermita, Manila, Sabreen’s Seafood Market stands out to which passersby can take a view of the cooking experience while walking in front of the restaurant.
Sabreen’s will soon be launching the biggest seafood restaurant aquarium in Manila which will serve as the centerpiece.
Sabreen’s Seafood Market and Restaurant specialties include Calamares, Clams Ginger Soup, Fried Shrimp with Chili Sauce, Sauteed Crab with Black Pepper Sauce, Baked Scallop, Mixed Vegetables with Oyster Sauce, among others.
And just like the other dampa house in the metro, the drill is very simple.
First, buy your seafood ingredients at the display counter. Each seafood has a corresponding price based on its weight by grams and kilos.
Pay all the items, vegetable ingredients included, and tell the service crew your choice of dishes your seafood hauls shall be cooked.
Go back to your table and wait for 10-15 minutes until food is served.
And our impressions and recommendation? We love the feel, the ambiance, and the look of the restaurant. The definition of how Sabreen’s upscale royalty look lives up to its interior and furniture designs, all the way to the tables and chairs, plates, and utensils.
Compared to the ‘outdoor dampa’, the market-style, taking orders, and from the way cooks and waiters preparing the dishes are done in a particular manner that diners will surely enjoy.
We recommend for you to try the Pineapple Fried Rice. It’s perfect for the Crab and Shrimp dishes. We also enjoyed Sabreen’s Steamed Lapu-Lapu and Grilled Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce.
We give Sabreen’s Seafood Market and Restaurant a perfect score of 5!
