Sam Pinto was invited during the Live Nissan GT Academy Philippines Recruitment event at the Skydome which made the event more exciting for race car fanatics.
“I have never played Gran Turismo but I accepted Nissan’s invitation because I thought it would be fun to try,” the actress admitted. “I’m sure all the women drivers out there would enjoy the experience too, maybe one of them will even qualify for the Race Camp in the UK.”
“It’s hard, but it’s fun!” exclaimed Sam when she started her driving inside the simulator pods, all in an effort to finish with a respectable lap time, while Mr. SJ Huh, Nissan General Manager for Marketing, cheers her up and assist her until she finished the lap race.

During the Live Nissan GT Academy Philippines Recruitment event at the Skydome, we joined the hundreds of hopefuls of becoming one of the six Gran Turismo players to be sent to U.K. The virtual race was easy to look at but as we took the wheel, we just realized we couldn’t beat the fastest time clocked in the race. For our side, the fastest we’ve made is at 1:30:886 and we did not even made it to the Top 20.
To date, the fastest lap time recorded in the Philippines is 1:02:762 and the slowest in the Top 20 is 1:03:671. So far, 3,005 attempts have been recorded in the live recruitment events which started last April 10 and will run at various venues until June 28.
