If you haven’t heard it yet, bingsu (also known as patbingsoo) is one of the top food craze here in the Philippines, made especially more famous when South Korean dramas and pop music became popular in the country.
We may have our own flavorful shaved ice dessert called halo-halo but bingsu is also making waves in this food category.
Bingsu, or patbingsoo, is a shaved ice dessert popular in South Korea made up of sweet toppings and chopped fruit, milk, and red beans. As it became more popular, a lot of restaurants offer bingsu on their menu.
Bingsu specialty food stores and franchise cafes, also opened in different malls serving different flavors to attract customers.
Snowbing, a Filipino-owned Korean-themed cafe features 12 flavors of bingsu fix. And what makes Snowbing gain attention so fast is its reasonable price and big bingsu sevings.
We’ve visited Sonwbing in the main building of SM North EDSA a few days ago, and we heard that they also have a branch in TriNoma Mall.
We ordered different flavors of Snowbingsu from the menu and we had Mangoes & Cream, Strawberries & Cream, Salted Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Matcha Green Tea, Choco Banana, Choco Brownie, and more for a sample food tasting.
To be honest, it was our first time to fully appreciate bingsu. And now we understand why there’s a lot of people going crazy over bingsu.
It’s like taking a break from a hot and humid summer. Once the bingsu lands in the mouth, it’s a total chaos in the palate. There are a lot of Snowbingsu flavors to choose from and each of them will give you the refreshing feels as it cools down through your throat.
It’s overwhelming. A single serving of Snowbingsu is already good for two persons. But if you’re on solo and you really love bingsu, then by all means, have it all for yourself.
Snowbing leveled their price below P200 to meet the needs of their customers without having to spend a lot but will leave the dessert cafe really satisfied. Customers will not get short-changed when they dine in at Snowbing cafe.
Shaved Ice Dessert
Some of the restaurants serving bingsu don’t even come close to the original shaved ice dessert when it comes to its main ingredient, ice. Some of the bingsu that we’ve tried before have barely shaved ice. Some served bingsu with crushed ice and that’s not how authentic bingsu should be.
At Snowbing, the management sees that they deliver honest-to-goodness bingsu to their customers. They even imported a shaving ice machine that they use to get that perfect fine texture of the shaved ice.
If you really want to experience a true bingsu dessert, then head on to Snowbing located at the ground floor right in front of National Bookstore in SM North EDSA. In TriNoma Mall, Snowbing is located at the Garden, 4th Level.
