Barely five months, just right after we were introduced, we’ve met and tasted another set of specialties by Chef Josh Boutwood of Village Tavern. This time, to celebrate Village Tavern’s First Year Anniversary of its first branch outside US.
With Chef Boutwood‘s exquisite and experienced career as The Bistro Group‘s corporate chef, Josh shared a sumptuous new set of menus that he called “are a gustatory celebration“, to exclusive guests of Village Tavern at the second floor of Bonifacio High Street Central.
It wasn’t just a menu, it was a feast! Starting off with small plates of Crispy Clams with Spicy Lemon Dip, Spicy Garlic Chicken Wings, and Shrimp Balls with Cilantro Lime – which are truly perfect for sharing.
Then there was this 35-ounce of perfectly rib-eye steak called the Tomahawk, hand-cut and grilled to everyone’s liking. A party of 5-7 people can enjoy this one. There’s also the anniversary items such as the exotic Ox Cheek with Truffle Mash and Poached Onions, Kansas Ribs, Lamb Rack, and even Cod Fish and Lapu Lapu with Pico de Gallo. Hungry? These wasn’t just what Village Tavern announced that evening, they are also hosting Wednesday Night Out, featuring half off on all wines by the glass, as well as all cocktails and liquors.
“With so many new restaurants in the metro, it can be quite difficult to create a following, especially as Filipinos become more adventurous. The new menu is our way of saying thank you to our loyal patrons – those who have their favorites and keep coming back for more, and of course, those who are always on the lookout for something new, something exciting, something to thrill their palate,” says Josh.
