In celebration with the annual Songkran Festival in Thailand, Spiral tapped an amazing culinary voyage on its second installment of the Flavors of the World Series featuring Amazing Songkran. It’s a 3-day celebration of the Thai cuisine with Spiral’s Thai Master Chef, Romeo Malate, a Filipino chef who trained in Thailand and has been cooking Thai food for over 12 years.
When in Thai, flavors such as the Pad Thai and Tom Yum are always on the list when in search of authentic Thai flavors. We remembered while we were in the streets of Phuket, we were able to taste different Thai food and how we discovered how the Pad Thai is sold in almost every corner. Pad Thai is one of Thai’s comfort foods and tourists love the flavor mix that goes along the rice noodle-based dish.
At Spiral, guests were offered with authentic Thai flavors from April 18-20, 2017 from the Pad Thai classic, Tom Yum goong, delicious curry, cocktails, and dessert that represents the beginning of Thai New Year.
On its first day, we were able to meet and honored to have seated beside Kingdom of Thailand Ambassador to the Philippines Thanatip Upatising who is casual and friendly. Ambassador Thanatip was with his wife, Monthip Upatising, who is charming as well and also an expert when it comes to Thai food cooking. Monthip or Bee, once in a while organizes cooking demonstrations to small groups as part of her advocacy to promote Thai culinary and to strengthen the bond between Thailand and the Philippines.
The Amazing Songkran festival set goes at P2,650nett for lunch and P3,100nett for dinner.
