There were about 200 participants for this year’s second Star Movies Move-A-Thon held at Houze Manila at the basement of Remmington Manila Hotel in Resorts World Manila complex. Move-A-Thon is a movie marathon that required non-stop dancing from contenders who wanted to be declared the Philippines’ ultimate film lovers.
These individual were grouped with respective 5-members per team and to beat the 24-hour clock, moving and dancing to the soundtrack of Annie, Magic Mike XXL, Frozen, Pitch Perfect 2, Happy Feet 2, Mama Mia, and of course, Dirty Dancing.
The group that made it as the last team standing was awarded with P200,000 prized money and the others that made it 2nd and 3rd got Star Movies merchandise and premium items from sponsors.
Team The KPop Moveathoners bagged the no. 1 spot of the Star Movies Move-a-Thon dance contest that started from 5 AM (June 27) to 5 AM (June 28).
Team members are Regiely Prado, Rona Liezl Cruz, Paul Ian Lorica, Michael John Prado, and John Wilford Prado.
The Star Movies Move-A-Thon is the channel’s seventh movie marathon, and it was the first time that viewers were allowed to compete in teams. Contestants danced non-stop for an entire day while watching the most entertaining musicals in movie history.
