With today’s digital lifestyle, kids are more focused on playing with their gadgets than playing games that will make them sweat. Outdoor play for kids is now being recommended by experts because it is beneficial for the kids physical development, and much more healthier, too. Playing outdoors also develop their motor skills and self-confidence.
Beginning last March 9, 2017, My Street, High Street was launched by Bonifacio Global City. It takes the adults on a trip down the memory lane when most of the kids activities were done outdoors. In line with this, BGC opened its streets so that people, kids and adults alike can discover and rediscover the joys of playing outdoors.
Every Sunday since March 9, some parts of High Street will be closed for traffic and instead will be filled with larger than life games that the whole family can enjoy. There’s the huge Jenga blocks, Pick-up-sticks, Snake & Ladders, Jack & the Giant Stones, Tumbang Preso, Piko, Limbo Rock, and much, much more.
“Here in BGC we always think of ways to promote a healthy and active street life for our BGCitizens,” said Sean Luarca, Marketing Manager at Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC), the developer and master planner of BGC. “All of our projects within the BGC community create street camaraderie and in turn makes the street life of BGC dynamic and vibrant. With this My Street, High Street Campaign, we encouraged our BGCitizens to go out of their units and embrace the street lifestyle and have some real fun under the sun.”
