TCEB expects to see a rise of five percent in international exhibitions visitors to 181,200 visitors, and a 10 % rise in income to US$513 million, while the overall MICE industry is expected to welcome 888,210 MICE visitors, earning to Thai economy a total of US$ 2,907 million. Comparing that statistics to last year in 2013, Thailand succeeded in welcoming 191,319 exhibitions visitors, a 16.4 % growth from a previous year, earning over US$480 million to the economy.
During the press conference held at Dusit Hotel in Makati, blogger and photographer Ted Claudio of WazzupPhilippines inquired about the challenges that Filipino SMEs are about to face especially in this ASEAN integration especially in tapping the Thailand market. The panel mentioned that it is not about the challenges but rather opportunities to expose the Filipino SMEs to better technologies, better services, and this could enable their businesses to grow as they get financial partners. The ASEAN integration thing is a networking and complimentary strategies, according to the panel.
