THE LAST SHIP ACTOR ERIC DANE AS CAPT. TOM CHANDLER.

The Last Ship Season 2 premiere double-episode is just awesome!

Olympia has surrendered

(Spoiler alert) That  is what exactly Amy Granderson (played by Alfre Woodard) vice-chair of the US President’s Defense Policy Board told Tom Chandler (Eric Dane), commanding officer of the USS Nathan James (DDG-151), when she finally lost her power of authority to Chandler on Season 2 Episode 2, premiering on Monday, June 22 on Warner TV. But first, let’s go back to Season 1 finale, where all the action on S2 premiere started.

The Last Ship Season 1 Finale ended on the promise of saving the people by finding the cure and bringing it ashore. And then, state troopers allied with Granderson taking over the ship, killing and injuring crew members, taking control of Nathan James lab and the vaccine. And that’s where Season 2 Episode 1 picked it up.

Season 2 Episode 1 boils with complete suspense and action. It is far better for a season premiere where others would have gone for another three episodes before getting up to the climax. Season 2 premiere episode began where they left Season 1 finale and that’s why it was meant to be. As the second season opens, Chandler, his second-in-command XO Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and the rest of the crew are working to disseminate the cure that paleo-microbiologist Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra) developed at the end of the first season. But a new enemy surfaces in this high-impact drama.

The whole of Season 2 episodes 1 and 2 are one big explosive double-episode. Thanks to the exclusive screener that was shared to us. When you start watching, you’re bound to finish it ’til the next episode.

Highly dramatic and full of suspense, there are no scenes that will lead you to jump for conclusions. You just have to wait for the next frame to see what’s going to happen next. All the camera angles and shots were executed very well to emphasize and give justice to what the season premiere plot was all about. It’s like watching it on a big screen inside the movie house.

In this season, The Last Ship sails again in its quest to save humanity after a devastating pandemic, successfully saving the crew and passengers of Nathan James. Dane (Grey’s Anatomy) stars in the action-packed military thriller from blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay (Transformers).

Granderson failed in searching for the ‘primordial origin’ of the disease and Chandler reclaimed his ship. The plot for the Season 2’s premiere double-episode finally closes and we are left with clues as to what will gonna happen next for the whole season. Captain Chandler and his crew must confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they may be among the few remaining survivors.

Just a few hours after its US release, The Last Ship will air first and exclusive in the Philippines on Warner TV, Monday, June 22 at 9:50 PM. Last year’s top summer drama will premiere with a double episode, featuring epic-scale and visceral storytelling based on William Brinkley’s popular novel.

The Last Ship chronicles a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world’s population. Because of its positioning, the Navy destroyer USS Nathan James avoided the tragedy.

We are just excited on what’s going to happen next on the succeeding episodes of The Last Ship! Our review for this Season 2 premiere episodes is awesome!
