June 5, 2013, gave birth to the opening of artists exhibition fueled by love and passion along the alleys of a commercial mall in Mandaluyong City. RenaiXance is born.
May sound redundant, but yes, RenaiXance – the art gallery, has been unveiled for the first time at A.R.T. Center, 4th Level, Bldg. A, SM Megamall. This is A Decade of Renaissance Art Gallery which “birthed” the careers of artists who have become major-award winners, among which are Max Balatbat, Sio Montera, Aner Sebastian, Ronaldo Ruiz, Orley Ypon, Felix Catarata, Jojo Austria, Benji Bisaya, Josef Laureano, and Fitz Herrera. Through the efforts of Toots Tolentino (Publicist), Cid Reyes (Writer), Agnes and Noli Romero (Producers), Jay Javier (Photographer), and Josef Laureano (Art Director), a collection of 50 most notable and honorable Filipino artists was opened to the public.
The opening night was attended by the artists themselves who have shared their collections and artworks for the said exhibit. The highlight was the public appearances of two of the pillar sculptor artists, Napoleon Abueva and National Artist, Abdul Imao. RenaiXance will run through until June 29, 2013.
The likes of Jim Paredes, brought by his feet to the exhibit, showcased his framed artworks such as “Batang Bata Ka Pa” and ” Kensho Path 1.1“. Jay Javier has his share “Tricolor Cat #1“, while Josef Laureano brandished an abstract acrylic painting on canvas, “Kampay“. One of our favorite artist, Aris Bagtas also showcased his never-before seen mixed-media work called “Birdman” which he told us later on that the said piece is going to be part of another exhibit he is soon to launch.
Visit RenaiXance and give your eyes a feast of multi-artworks from different artists, all truly are masterpieces!
RenaiXance: A Decade of Renaissance Art Gallery is open daily until June 29.
