Recently, UnionBank of the Philippines celebrated another milestone through a Thanksgiving Party which we attended a couple of nights ago. UnionBank shared with us the three awards that the bank received in 2016. UnionBank was named Best Commercial Bank, Best Innovation in Retail Banking by International Banker, and the Best Company to work for in Asia. These recognition elevates the bank to a higher level especially that now that they are geared towards full digital transformation.
For 35 years, UnionBank has always been on the lookout for ways to provide Filipinos with Smart Banking solutions. With the recognition mentioned above, UnionBank is envisioned to be the bank of the future that will continue to make a positive difference to its customers.
As the Bank of the Future, clients will soon experience virtual services from the bank’s many products from loans, investments, savings accounts, etc.
UnionBank is also commited in the purpose of elevating lives and fulfilling dreams through their GoBeyond Communities (GBC) program that was launched in May 2014. GoBeyond Communities focuses onsocially beneficial community-centered volunteer program, organized and driven by employees through sweat-equity to provide better lives to communities in a sustainable environment. Thus, serves’ UnionBank’s “#UMakeDaDiff” campaign reach and be involved in the lives of people in the communities where employees of UnionBank are volunteering.
The GoBeyond Communities is centered in four critical areas such as Environment, Education, Employment and Livelihood, and Inclusion.
Since its launch in 2014, the program had 60 activities all over the Philippines with 3,508 volunteers pouring in more than 18,594 volunteer hours providing needed assistance to 285 communities or 1,439,730 beneficiaries. Phamela ‘Pam’ Galoyo is the Program Manager of GoBeyond Communities and is also the AVP and Head of UnionBank Human Resource Services. She has been with UnionBank for almost 28 years.

It was really an enjoyable party where we as guests can feel the wonderful and harmonious relationship of each of UnionBank’s employees and its leaders. The men and women of UnionBank are awesome. We are impressed that the bank has another side that cares for the community. It’s no wonder they were given awards that recognize their bank-to-people service.
UnionBank Around Us
UnionBank has been around for 35 years but there’s one thing that we’ve noticed that we hope that the bank will give something to look in. Correct us if we’re wrong, but we barely see a UnionBank ATMs in most of the malls in the city. It’s hard to find a dedicated UnionBank ATM and most of their branches are quite far from where malls are located. Their bank clients and customers will surely be glad if they put up more automated teller machines in key locations in the city.
