Only in May 2016, we saw the global launch of the Vivo V3 Max and we gave it an awesome unboxing and review after we were able to get first dibs of the 5.5 smartphone. In the said article, we mentioned Vivo’s global stand Q1 2016 in the world, making the brand more aggressive when it comes to developing competitive smartphones for end-users.
This month of October, we were invited to an exclusive launch of their new mobile device, the Vivo Y55, a new companion for young Filipinos who love to express themselves with the Vivo mobile phones.
The Vivo Y55 promises to “light up your selfies” with its Smart Screen Flash and high-quality front facing camera that elevates the selfie game. From its branding, the Vivo Y55 enters the selfie camera stage that many smartphones have jumped into.
The Vivo Y55 features a 5.2-inch with a 1280×720 pixel display on an ultra-slim unibody design. It’s also the first entry-level Vivo smartphone to be powered by an octa-core processor – a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 running at 1.4GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.
Aside from the Smart Screen Flash, Vivo Y55 also features the Smart Split 2.0 which makes multitasking a breeze with a simple click.
But one thing that made our heads turn is the Triple Card Slots for 4G SIM and Micro SD card up to 128GB for more flexibility.
And speaking of the selfie game, Vivo Y55’s front facing camera snaps photos at 5MP, assisted by the Smart Screen Flash technology. Its main camera is rated at 8MP and can take photos and scale it up to 32MP in Ultra HD mode.
Vivo Y55 is also the first Vivo smartphone to come with the new version of Funtouch OS 2.6, based on Android Marshmallow operating system. This brings a host of new and improved features, such as Smart Split 2.0, Eye Protection Mode, and improved memory management.
The Y55 is powered by a 2650mAh battery, ensuring longer staying power for extended usage.
“The Vivo Y55 is a testament to Vivo’s dedication in developing high-quality products that embody the brand’s values. It seamlessly integrates top-quality hardware with highly-optimized software, giving users a more premium experience that adds value to the product. The Vivo Y55, along with Vivo’s new Funtouch OS 2.6, is only the beginning, and Filipino consumers can look forward to more exciting products that can give them more value for their money,” said Hazel bascon, Vivo Philippines Vice President.
Vivo Y55 is will soon be available in major retailers and at the Vivo Concept Store beginning on October 28 and will retail for P7,990.
